Breyer Model Horses teams up the the Equestrian Land Conservation Resource.  Purchase of this special benefit model will help local conservation groups receive funding to preserve open land which is critical for stabling horses, maintaining local, state, and national riding trails, and keeping land available to grow the hay and grain necessary to feed horses.  A percentage of the sale of every Breyer ELCR horse will help local groups.

Employee's Favorite Trails:

Kristi's Picks!

Geneva Wilderness Area/Little Big Econ State Forest 1350 Snowhill Road, Geneva, FL 32732

    *North side gets buggy

    *Footing is great grass/dirt

*If your horse will walk across the wooden bridge there's a safe place to drink from the river

*Look for the small alligator that lives under the bridge!

    *May come across bicycles

*Water hose at parking area to rinse off

*Water obstacles in the rainy season

*Entrance off of Snow Hill Rd.

    *Bathrooms at the Ranger Station

*Great trail with nice areas to canter!

Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park (Fechtel Tract)  38015 Fechtel Road, Eustis, FL, 32726

    *Beautiful, shaded trails

*Footing is sugar sand in some places and old concrete in others but pretty good overall

*Go with someone who's been there before - trail markers aren't the best

*No water for the horses that we saw while on the trail

*If you're not camping you have to park at the outside gate entrance and have to ride at least 15 min to actual trail head where there's a 10 stall    barn, paddocks, water troughs, and bathrooms

*Very nice facility if you wish to camp with your ponies!

Clarcona Trails on Old Windy Acres Property  3535 Damon Road, Apopka, FL 32703

*When Windy Acres was sold to Orange County to be used for a water treatment plant it was made clear that horse areas would have to be included in the development. Thus the trail runs all the way around the water treatment plant.

*Double fenced most of the way around

*Loch system in and out for safety

    *No water on the trail

    *Almost a 9 mile loop

*Footing is a mix of grass and sugar sand

*Lots of up hills and down hills

    *Watch for turtle holes

*Park at Clarcona Horseman's Park and cross Damon Rd. at park entrance to enter trail

*Nice areas of shade and sunshine

*Nice trails but it's a shame you can't ride a shorter distance than the loop
