This rider originally purchased these boots because she was comfortable with the height. "It doesn't hit me in the back of the leg!", she said as she demonstrated by bending her leg slightly.
While it's true that these boots are comfortable for the rider, watch what happens when we sit her on a saddle.

When we sat this rider on the saddle, we noticed the large gap on the front of her leg between the boot and her knee. She may not feel the boot in the back of her leg, but a judge will certainly notice the sloppy appearance in the front! These boots make her leg appear short and frumpy. While this rider does have the proper attire for the horse show, she does not look her best. |

Now let's see this rider in a properly fitted tall boot. When trying these boots on, our rider complained that these boots "are killing the back of my knee!" She also commented that "when I stand up, the boots are uncomfortable on my knee cap!"
After much convincing, we sent her home to ride so that the boots could properly break in. Here we see what they look like after they have been broken in. Notice the wrinkling around her ankle as the boots have fallen down her calf.
Now let's see what these boots look like in the saddle.

Voila! A perfect picture of an equestrian athlete! The boot fits snugly under her knee and reaches tall in the front. The wrinkling around her ankle now allows her to fully flex her foot in the saddle for a secure seat.
Notice how long and lean our riders leg appears now! Our rider is happy with her new, properly fitted tall boots.
Another blue ribbon fitting from the Saddlerettes at the Saddler of Orlando!
